WELCOME TO THECHEAPERSHOW.COM
It’s been a long time since September when I had the pleasure to sit down with some of this city’s top new media designers, strategists and entrepreneurs @ Cartelera to talk about the future of The Cheaper Show online. Since that day we’ve been hard at work defining exactly what the new website should offer and how it can extend what The Cheaper Show means to the arts & culture in this city and beyond.
What you’re seeing today is first phase of our vision for thecheapershow.com, and in many ways will be the central pillar of this website. It’s our goal to use this platform to showcase the amazing across all mediums: art, music, video, photography, performance, food, city, and life in general. The Cheaper Show Blog will be the place to find out what you should do this weekend, where you should eat, and who you should be paying attention to. The same level of curation, attention and care we take with The Cheaper Show will be applied to everything we post. We want to bring our readers value every time they visit the site.
This year also marks the first year of a proper archive of artists that have graced the show with their talent. In the years to come it will be a place to look back at the lineage of emerging artists in your city, a yearbook of sorts.
In the next few months, we’ll be launching our Online Store, featuring incredible artwork, Cheaper Show artist edition apparel and other items from around the world.
This will of course also be the place to find out what’s happening with the show and our crew leading up to and after the big event in June 2010.
It’s an exciting time, I look forward to hearing your reactions and ideas going forward.
Peace,
