THE RSVP LIST CLOSES AT 5PM SATURDAY
UPDATE: The RSVP list already has 1000+ people on it, and we are literally opening up walls to make more space in our venue! Gonna be fun times. Get there EARLY .. We have room for 500 tops in our sure-to-be-sweaty warehouse in East Van.
The official launch and artist selections announcement party! Happening the Saturday, April 10.
We are announcing the 200 selected artists for The Cheaper Show No. 9. We’ve received over 950 international submissions this year from over 200 cities worldwide. This places us in the incredibly difficult position of turning down over 750 artists, so many with such undeniable talent. While I wish we could host everyone, we simply only have so much room.
Join us to honour everyone that submitted and observe the propagation of the Vancouver art community. Cheaper, deeper, delicious. On Saturday night things get crooked at 9pm. We have a 500 sq ft installation by street artist Office Supplies Inc. that tracks the last seven years of his postering campaign. The doobious acts Sorcerers, Basketball and Kick Evrything are performing. Everyone’s favorite Manhussy Dan Code is our hostess with the mostess and we have Glory Days’ Erik Deveraux soundtracking your earnest advances on that girl/guy.
They’re calling for blue skies this weekend so let’s kick off this spring and make it awesome.

Have you heard? Artists who were chosen, who din’t show up at ‘the chosen ones’ are being removed from the list! that’s why it’s taking so long to post it…. should have been there guys!

Just a suggestion to the cheaper show crew and staff:
There is a certain amount of professionalism in meeting your own deadlines. If you cannot meet a deadline, just let everyone know that you are having issues, and provide an expected ETA. You clearly stated you will post the list online yesterday, and well, we all have heard – nothing.

The only people who you are ‘teasing’ by delaying the posting of the list online, are the the artists who submitted their work. We all know how easy it is to cut/paste a list of text to update a website. I also feel like Happy Gilmore, thanks guys!!
why didn’t you guys save the effort and have this deal at the LES gallery. The in house artists wouldn’t have had to anything at all
