If you would like to be considered for these and other opportunities, please send us high-res files of your work (these can be the same images as submitted for application in high resolution).

File Size: Files must be 300 DPI, and at least 7 inches wide (height variable).

Please send your high-res files to Kelin Kaardal by May 20th: kkaardal@thecheapershow.com.

GUEST LIST AT THE SHOW

Each artist will have two guest list spots at the show. With 150 local artists, we need to keep this number limited. Guests will be permitted to skip the line-up and enter through the VIP door, but WILL NOT BE ABLE TO PURCHASE ART UNTIL AFTER 9PM.

Please understand that we are working very hard to make it fair for the hundreds and thousands of attendees that wait in line hours for a chance to purchase your art.

You must email your guest list names to us by June 17th. Email us your name along with your two guests’ names to — guestlist@thecheapershow.com

BUYING ART AT THE SHOW

Again, for the sake of all our visitors, PARTICIPATING ARTISTS WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO BUY ARTWORK . This rule is in effect for all of our staff, volunteers and VIP guests. If you are interested in purchasing art, please find a friend that is willing to wait in line for you.

We appreciate your understanding with these new policies. With thousands of people coming to the show, it is important for us to make it accessible and fair for everyone!

SALON VIP PREVIEW EVENING – FRIDAY, JUNE 24TH

On Friday, June 24th, we are hosting SALON, The Cheaper Show’s VIP Preview Evening.

We designed this evening specifically for you to engage and be seen by some of the top gallery directors, collectors, curators, ad agencies, writers, art directors, bloggers and design firms in Vancouver, Seattle and Portland. We are expecting 500+ guests whom we’ve sent customized invitations to. Our goal is to put you in reach of people that can really provide opportunities to you.

At SALON, all participating artists will be distinguished with a pin in order to promote interaction. We ask you to be on hand for interviews and to field questions that attendees may have about your work. This is your time to connect with people, you will find it beneficial to stand near your work and speak with people that express interest. Making a personal connection with a patron is the most powerful tool you can have when it comes to selling your work. We suggest having business cards on hand and a website/blog in order to promote your work.

Your artwork will not be for sale at SALON, nor will it be numbered until the day of The Cheaper Show so as not to give anyone the advantage of purchasing without seeking out the number of the piece at our live event.

In order to keep a strong focus on connectivity and to keep our numbers smaller, we are allowing each artist to bring one guest. Please send your guest’s name and your name to salon@thecheapershow.com before June 17th, 2011.

Event Details

  • Time: 7pm – 10pm
  • Presentation: 8pm
  • All of you will be on the list, and we encourage you to get there promptly at 7pm or even a few minutes before hand.
